Headbangers, welcome to the official Dokk'em Open Air website! Dokk'em Open Air is an independent two-day international metal festival that rocks the boat once a year near the Frisian town of Dokkem. Are we awake? Good, because this year the 7th edition of the festival will take place on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th of June (right in between the semi-finals and the finals of the European Championship of soccer). Confirmed acts so far include Arch Enemy, Obituary, Death Angel, Pro-Pain and The Gathering! The Gathering will do a memorable performance, for they will play their full debut album ´Always´ in the original line-up of 20 years ago. Death Angel will also play their full debut album (The Ultra Violence) in a special headline show on Friday! Also, there is plenty of room for local talents. How about the fine hardrock of Vanderbuyst? Or death metal machines Hail of Bullets and Sinister. For the power/prog lovers we have the Polish Pathfinder (think Rhapsody of Fire) and the Belgian Max Pie. But keep an eye on our website, because the line-up is not complete yet!

Important to know

We are a foundation and don't have the goal of making any profit. We work with a large group of volounteers who commit themselves to the festival for consecutive days and nights. This allows us to keep both the entrance and the consumption prizes at an acceptable level. For parking you pay a small fee to compensate the costs we have to make for the terrain. Besides that, you will not encounter any unexpected costs. If you're coming from far away, don't hestitate. We've got a free metal caming and in the morning there will be a breakfast stand with fresh coffee. Make it a nice trip, Friesland is worth the efford and it's really not that far!
