Nightmare was one of the first heavy metal bands in France and was formed as early as 1979. The band created interest from the record companies in 1983 when they caught the public’s interest as opener for Def Leppard. The band signed with Ebony Records where they released their debut album ‘Waiting for the Twilight’. This album brought them success in the Japanese charts and they went on to be the first French band that was successful in Great Britain. After a series of problems at the end of the 80s, the new record company went bust and the band had health problems with a few of its members, the band had to split up. 12 years later they came together for a reunion. In the mean time the band has released 6 albums and has many tours under its belt. The band has played, among other things, as special guest for Saxon and partook in festivals along with Iron Maiden and Stratovarius. This year they will keep a place open in their diary for a show at Dokk’em.
